About Kristine
I was always a little envious of people who knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grew up; that was not the case for me. I went to college with a “let’s-try-everything attitude” and found that I loved learning about children, adolescents, and family interactions. Discovering that love, I pursued and earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University in Family Science, and a Master’s Degree from Arizona State University in Marriage and Family Therapy. Professionally and personally, I have more than three decades of experience working with families, couples, parents, children/teens, and individuals in school, clinical, and church settings.
In addition to formal education and professional experiences, I continue to gain insights from my own marriage and raising of my children. My husband and I have been married for twenty-six years and counting. We have five children–four daughters and one son. More recently, we have graduated into the new world of grandparenting, now that our oldest and her husband have three sons of their own.
As a marriage and family therapist, my passion is helping people manage their anxiety, fears, and frustrations; discover and unlock their own reserves of resilience; and persevere through—and even flourish—in the face of life’s inevitable adversities.
I understand that life’s struggles are rarely created or resolved in isolation. That is why I approach treatment by addressing concerns in the context of family and relationship “systems,” where connections (or lack thereof) play an important role in the search for healing and peace.
Whether you are seeking to preserve a marriage, recover from a divorce, repair parent/child relationships, or work through other trials and struggles, I will work intentionally to create a safe and inviting environment, where you feel comfortable and heard, and where trust can be built and solutions discovered that work best for you and your experiences.
I look forward to helping you (re)discover connections, implement effective coping skills, and find resiliency regardless of what life sends your way!
